Each group will do the following:

1. Complete necessary background research on their biogeochemical cycle, answering the questions listed below.

2. Prepare a Wiki entry that minimally includes answers to all of the basic questions.

3. Prepare questions to be used on quizzes and tests for this unit. Group will provide correct answers for all questions.

a. Four completion (fill in the blank)

b. Two definitions

c. One short answer

d. One essay

4. Deliver 7 - 10 minute presentation to class, with all members of the group actively participating in the oral presentation

Basic questions each presentation should address:

1. What is (are) the form(s) of the element that is (are) used by biology?

2. What is (are) the source(s) of this element on the planet?

3. What is (are) the sink(s) for this element on the planet?

4. Over what time scale does this cycle occur?

5. Over what spatial scale does this cycle occur?

6. Name and describe the biological and geological process involved in the transformations in this cycle.

7. Name and describe the organisms involved in the processes of this cycle.

8. Describe how humans interact with and have altered this biogeochemical cycle (i.e., air pollution and the greenhouse, agriculture using inorganic fertilizers, etc.)

Each presentation should include the following:

1. Minimum of 2-3 scientific presentation quality graphics (graphs or figures). These can be taken from your textbook or a website. Make sure to correctly identify the source. We are working in WikiWorld, which is the Internet, so please link to the graphics instead of copying and pasting them into you entry.

2. One or two textbooks may be used as general/background references. Each group is expected to include at least one peer reviewed article (published in the year 2000 or after) that provides a current perspective on the cycle. Websites can be used as resources, but no more than two. No presentation can be completed without external sources, so do not forget to cite them.

3. Citations for all information and pictures used in the presentation. Use APA Style for your citations APA Style @Vanguard.
